This year Sportscraft celebrates 104 years of women, with the launch of the 2018 Mother’s Day Campaign, “Home is Where the Heart Is”.
Breaking the stereotypes of motherhood, Sportscraft celebrates the individuality of some truly inspiring mums this Mother’s Day. Juliette Wright, Kaitlin Tait, Louise Keats, Nadine Bush, Rachel Castle and Victoria Hampshire are the six ambassadors for the campaign, which has rolled out in-store and online across Australia and New Zealand.
Driven and inspired, Juliette Wright is on a mission to alleviate the effects of poverty across Australia. After being inundated with baby gifts with the arrival of her second child, Juliette felt like she needed to do more than simply leave them out the front of her local charity store – and it was in this moment that her online platform GIVIT was born.
Smart, beautiful and determined, Kaitlin Tait is a force to be reckoned with. Co-founding Spark International (now YGAP) with her husband Aaron – a non-profit organisation devoted to finding, training and funding entrepreneurs to help bring their communities out of poverty, this year will be Kaitlin’s first Mother’s Day. Having changed countless lives of those living in poverty (over 402,999 to be exact) Kaitlin battled a difficult journey to motherhood, undergoing two rounds of IVF to conceive her son Finn. A mother, entrepreneur and passionate feminist, Kaitlin is a pioneer in changing the world for women.
Coming from one of Australia’s foremost food families – her grandmother is Australia’s best-loved cookery expert, Margaret Fulton – Louise’s family life has always revolved around family, cooking and eating well.
The accomplished mother of two is a food and nutrition writer, cookbook author, magazine columnist, public speaker and co-founder of reformer Pilates studio, Vive Active. Raising her beautiful children Harry and Charlotte in the picturesque Sothern Highlands countryside while juggling her many hats, Louise has an incredible passion for cooking with whole foods and creating healthy eating habits at home for the whole family, while still allowing your children to have some fun with food too of course.
As a self-confessed “hustler,” Nadine Bush is the quintessential example of getting better with age, having recently discovered modelling and even recently obtaining her celebrant license so she could marry son Josh and his partner Hannah at their wedding. For Nadine, gratitude and motherhood go hand in hand. With two sons aged 31 and 29, Nadine’s view on motherhood is that perspective is the key to not letting the hard times get in the way of appreciating the good. “As I’ve gotten older, my perspective on life is a lot broader and deeper and I’ve realised that I am what I am, and what I am is pretty damn great actually. I love my body for being healthy, enabling me to enjoy my life, give life and love to my children, and just be alive on this beautiful planet.”
Sunny colours, pop culture, laughter and hard work all drive Rachel Castle’s world. Launching her eponymous homewares business, Castle in 2008, she has gained a cult following thanks to her highly sought-after paintings, embroideries and bed linen. Rachel’s make-you-smile manifesto is embodied in everything she creates. “I want my artworks to wink at everyone who sees them,” she says. “I take their playfulness seriously.”
For Victoria Hampshire, fusing the worlds of interiors and fashion are not only her vocation, but also her way of life. Having grown up in a creative family with an interior designer mother, Victoria’s days are split between running Victoria Hampshire Interiors by day, and her shoe label, Capri Positano, by night, all with husband Raffaele and two children by her side. Impossibly chic, Victoria’s approach to business and travel is to always put her family first – often whisking them away with her on her trips to Italy, a place of endless inspiration that has become like a second-home.
